SCOUTWorksTM is an Ernst & Young LLP (E&Y) service that connects our clients (more than 50 nationally known corporations with job hires estimated over 1,000,000) with federal, state, and local government employment and training programs to create long-term human resource solutions. By bringing together our clients and interested governmental agencies, SCOUTWorksTM helps support the reduction of welfare rolls and unemployment.
To enhance the connection between government lead employment and training programs (e.g., TANF, WtW, WIA) and employers, E&Y has built a tool to increase the successful placement of job ready candidates with leading employers. The enclosed survey will provide the information to populate a national database that will contain all state and tier 1 and 2 cities TANF, WtW, and WIA program information.
If you represent your State Department of Labor, State Department of Human Services, Workforce Development Board or One-Stop Operator, or a Community- Based Organization offering WtW, TANF, WIA , and would like us to help you connect with employers in your area, we need your help to capture your program's relevant information in our database.
The registration process above will allow you to receive, complete, and submit the Workforce Programs Survey for your organization and/or program. The survey will take approximately 30 minutes to complete and is the first step in matching your program services with employers in your area that are seeking qualified applicants for employment.
By maintaining and using this data, SCOUTWorksTM will be able to effectively and efficiently match up various program and agencies with national employers that are located in their area. This information will allow us to provide responsive coordination and collaboration among government employment programs and employers with hiring opportunities.
Currently, SCOUTWorksTM identifies untapped federal, state, and local employment incentive programs to offset hiring and training costs and help employers improve their workforce and job retention by:
- Developing public-private relationships between government employment programs and employers
- Conducting feasibility studies to identify human resource business issues (hiring need, attrition costs, training initiative, etc.)
- Matching employment programs, labor pools, and incentives to address business needs
- Assisting clients in securing incentives from federal, state, and local governments
- Assisting in preparing applications and managing paper flow
- Assistance in obtaining approval from appropriate governing bodies
